Selection Process
- The selection process includes the use of Computer Based Test (CBT), Document Verification (DV), Group Discussion, Presentation, Personal Interview as well as Medical Examination.
- Merit List: The merit list will be done on a weightage basis: 50 percent based on the best valid GATE/CAT/MBBS/CA/CMA score, 25 percent based on CBT score, 5 percent based on Group Discussion, 5 percent based on Presentation and 15 percent based on Personal Interview.
- The CBT will be in the state of Maharashtra, Mumbai, and will have negative marking (a quarter of the marks will be deducted as a result of a wrong answer).
- The shortlisted candidates will be expected to sign a service agreement bond.

Q1: How do these posts get selected?
The selection is usually conducted in form of a Computer Based Test (CBT), Document Verification (DV), Group Discussion, Presentation on a topic given, Personal Interview, and Medical Examination. In case of posts with GATE/CAT scores, these scores will be weighted by 50 percent in total merit, which will include CBT (25 percent), Group Discussion (5 percent), Presentation (5 percent), and Personal Interview (15 percent). In the case of Assistant Medical Officer, MBBS score takes a weight of 50% and in the case of Assistant Financial Advisor, CA/ CMA score takes a weight of 50%. According to the CBT merit, candidates whose number is up to ten times the notified vacancies will be called to proceed to the further stages.
Q2: Negative marking in the CBT?
Yes, negative marking will be present in the CBT. A third of marks assigned to every question will be deduced to each wrong answer.
Q3: What is the computer based test (CBT) syllabus?
The CBT will have 100 objective multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes. It has a syllabus of Basic Mathematics and Aptitude, General Awareness and Reasoning, and also General English. To be taught are specific subject matters such as Number System, Percentages, Time and Work, Current Events, Indian History, Polity, Geography, General Science, Computer Basics, Analogies, Series, Coding-Decoding, Venn Diagrams, Puzzles, Tenses, Prepositions, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension, and Letter Writing. The list is not exhaustive, and the questions on other related issues can also be posed.
Q4: How much is the fee of application and is it refundable?
Application fee is 1180/- (1000/- fee plus 18 GST). In the case of SC, ST, Ex-Serviceman, Female, Minorities and EBC candidates, the fee (Rs. 1000/-) will be refunded with bank charges minus them which are to appear in CBT.
Q5: What are the required documents of online application and document verification?
In the case of the online application, scanned documents of a recent passport size photograph, signature, and the related certificates such as SC/ST, Minority Declaration, or EBC income certificate (where applicable) are needed. In Document Verification (DV), you should come along with original education documents, mark sheets of all semesters/years, valid CAT/GATE/CA/CMA, PAN card, caste certificates (OBC-NCL, SC), OBC declaration, experience certificate (where applicable), Minority candidate affidavit, current employer NOC (where applicable) and legal documents of name change along with self certified copies.
Q6: Is it open to government/PSU employees?
Yes, candidates in any Central/State Government Department including Railways or PSUs can apply directly upon due notice to his or her employer. Nevertheless, shortlisted candidates need to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by his or her employer during Document Verification (DV), otherwise the candidature will not be registered.
