The notification, issued on 23-10-2025, outlines the following mandatory schedule:

The examination will take place on December 14, 2025, across different centers within the 8 districts of Tripura.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
The scholarship scheme is specifically designed for students currently reading in Class VIII during the academic year 2025-26.
You are eligible if:
- You are a regular student studying in Government, Government aided, or Local body schools under the Government of Tripura.
- Your parental income does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.
- Students holding Below Poverty Line (BPL), Antyoday (AAY), Ad-hoc, and NFSA ration cards do not need to submit an Income certificate at the time of application.
- Only Above Poverty Line (APL) ration card holder students are required to submit an income certificate during the application process.
You are NOT eligible if:
Students studying in Residential schools run by the Centre/State Government where facilities like boarding, lodging, and fooding are provided are not eligible. Similarly, students from Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools, and Private un-aided schools are not entitled to receive the NMMSS Scholarship.
The Application and Admit Card Process
The application process is exclusively online. No other application mode will be accepted.
- Online Application: Candidates must fill the application by logging in to the official portal: https://tripuratalentsearch.com.
- Checking Details: Candidates are strongly advised to visit the website to check their eligibility, syllabus, and the examination pattern as per MoE guidelines before submitting the online application.
- Verification: The application must be verified by the respective school authority. Admit Cards will only be issued after this school verification is complete.
- Admit Card Download: E-admit cards will be available on the website https://tripuratalentsearch.com showing the candidate’s particulars, photograph, and signature. These cards will be available from the first week of December 2025. No admit card will be issued separately by SCERT; they must be downloaded by the candidates online.
Understanding the Examination Pattern
The NMMSS Examination involves two separate tests conducted through Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), with the evaluation processed via an OMR sheet.

- SC/ST Students: The cut-off is 32% for both individual tests and the aggregate.
Scholarship Benefits and Continuation Rules
A total of 351 students will be selected for the scholarship based on merit.
- Scholarship Amount: Selected students receive Rs. 12,000/- per annum (equivalent to Rs. 1,000/- per month).
- Duration: The scholarship is provided for 4 years.
- Post-Selection Registration: Successful candidates must register on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in/ to receive their funds.
Continuation Requirements
For the continuation of the scholarship in Class X and XII, awardees must meet the following criteria:
- They must receive a clear promotion from Class IX to Class X and from Class XI to Class XII in the first attempt.
- Awardees must obtain a minimum of 60% marks in the Class X board examination for the scholarship to continue at the higher secondary stage.
- A relaxation of 5% (requiring 55% marks) is provided for SC/ST students for the continuation requirement based on the Class X examination results.
