NMDC Steel Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the required qualification in the relevant discipline from a recognized University or Institution approved by UGC, AICTE, or the Government of India.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Degree in Ceramic Engineering
• Degree in Metallurgy Engineering
• Degree in Instrumentation Engineering
• Computer Science / Information Technology Engineering / MCA
• Graduation with CA/ICWA or MBA (Finance)
• Graduation with PG Degree or MBA in Human Resources

Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete the required qualification before the Group Discussion and Interview stage.

Minimum Marks Required

Applicants should meet the minimum academic percentage criteria:

• General, EWS and OBC candidates: 60% aggregate marks
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates: 50% aggregate marks
• Departmental candidates receive separate relaxation as mentioned in the official notification.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is:

Salary and Benefits

Selected candidates will first undergo six months of training.

During training:

• Basic Pay: ₹50,000 per month
• Dearness Allowance (IDA)

After successful completion of training:

• Designation: Assistant Manager
• Pay Scale: ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000
• Initial Basic Pay: ₹60,000 per month

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of three stages.

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Candidates will appear for an objective-type Computer Based Test conducted in both English and Hindi.

Stage 2: Group Discussion

Candidates shortlisted based on CBT marks will participate in the Group Discussion.

Stage 3: Personal Interview

The final stage is the Interview.

The final merit list will be prepared using the following weightage:

• CBT – 70%
• Group Discussion – 15%
• Interview – 15%

Candidates will generally be shortlisted for GD and Interview in a 1:3 ratio based on CBT performance.
